Syria Amends Conscription Law to Generate More Revenues

The Syrian authorities have increased the amount of money that Syrian males aged over 42 have to pay to avoid conscription, a decision that aims at increasing the treasury’s revenues although many also perceive it as a means of discouraging refugees from returning.
