Lack of Suitable Land Delays Plans to Establish Hama Industrial City
The transitional government’s plans to establish an industrial city in the Hama governorate are on hold after the geological survey at the selected site near Salamieh revealed that the area lacked enough water resources. Earlier this year, the government announced plans to establish industrial cities in five locations, among them in Hama. For decades, Hama’s industrialists have advocated for the establishment of an industrial city as a tool to boost economic activity in the governorate.
