Introducing Syria Policy Dialogues – Syria’s Reconstruction: Navigating Political Realities and Opportunities
The Syria Report, in collaboration with the Omran Center for Strategic Studies and with support from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, is organising this year a series of workshops, under the name of Syria Policy Dialogues, to discuss the various challenges shaping Syria’s political transition.
The workshops bring together Syrian and international experts, policymakers, and stakeholders for closed-door, Chatham House Rules discussions.
Our inaugural workshop convened in Damascus this past May, bringing together bankers, economists, urban planners, agricultural specialists, civil society leaders, government ministries, and international diplomats to examine one of the defining questions of Syria’s future: how reconstruction is planned, financed, and governed, and who it ultimately serves.
