A survey carried out by Arthur Andersen revealed that Damascus has the lowest hotel occupancy rates of all major Arab cities, except for Kuwait city.

Syrian Tourism Minister Qassim Muqdad said on Wednesday he expected more wealthy Arabs to holiday in leading Arab tourist destinations next year following the September 11 attacks on the U.S, reported Al Quds.
